Foolish mortal, me.

I have spent a happy evening slurping coffee without a thought for the consequences.

I sit at my keyboard at 12.42am, red-eyed and manic. Tonight I shall either be staring at the ceiling or lying on it. I'm not sure which, yet.

It is not helped by the fact that I was drinking diet coke earlier. I prefer the vanilla diet coke as a rule, but in the absence of that I went for the stuff with lemon in it. I'm not saying it was sour, but my face caved in. Just a little more bitter and it would have generated a gravity well of its own and my head would have turned inside out.

I don't think I can drink enough Horlicks to counteract it...

The beverage report

I think the offer was "what do you want to drink - tea, hot choc, Coke, beer, water wine, gin?..."

"Coffee".

And several coffees later, when the pizza was eaten, the telly was over, bad puns shared, and a last drink offered:

"Horlicks?"

"C o F F e E !".

He's his own worst enemy you know, and one that fights without respect for the Geneva convention.

And WHAT the neighbours must have thought when, on the doorstep on the way out, he tipped his hat politely and stuffed a fiver in my top-pocket...

Hahhahaha
There's a girl in my class who has coffee and coffee and coffee for breakfast, a coke and two candy bars for lunch, and I'm afraid to ask what she eats for dinner.

Are you sure this girl isn't you, what with the coffee, coffee and coffee for breakfast...?

Groovy icon ;-)

No, I'm pretty sure it's not me. She's much shorter and her eyes bug out like a mouse's. In fact, everything about her screams MOUSE!

And thank you! It's Carmen Sandiego, a character from an old tv show I used to watch.

I feel sympathy for you - after a lovely evening at [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel's house I made the mistake of having a (rather large) glass of vanillacoke before trying to go to sleep.

I'd forgotten how much caffine that has in it.

I strongly suspect I have broken my caffeine sensors, after many years of drinking copious quantities of Diet Coke. I drink it (often the vanilla stuff) late at night and suffer no sleep issues from it. Maybe I'm just lucky ;)

I used to be like that; I'd quite often go to bed with a cup of filter coffee as a night time drink, then fall asleep almost immediately after finishing it. However, over the last 4 months I've been making an effort to cut down on caffine after 7pm and even in that short amount of time, I've noticed a real difference. If I now drink any strongly caffinated substance after about 9pm, it will affect my sleep.
