I'm a bit narked - but not much.

During a quiet moment in the office this afternoon I started writing Gratiano for NWO and the lad just stood there behind me dictating. Bloody marvellous. Then, of course, I had to stop and get on with some work, and now I have a few minutes, can I get back into the groove? No, I cannot. He's still there, but he's sulking.

Unfortunately, tonight I have to continue Operation Dancing Pigmy having got nothing done yesterday, so I rather hope that I can pick up this period of dictation again at a later point in the week.

I should be able to. I have the voice, I have the plot and subplots, all I need is to coax him out of his sulk and get cracking.

I may be able to get an hour in tonight if I get the room sorted to a reasonable level - the plan is to do a bit each evening this week. Unfortunately, space considerations mean that after the initial cull, I still have to resort to stacking stuff on the floor because I have far more junk than I have space to store it, and I am an inveterate hoarder. I know it, but that doesn't make throwing stuff out any easier. The best I can hope for by the weekend is to have clean tidy piles of junk carefully placed in the corners of the room. The serious, teeth-gritting cull of unnecessariana will take somewhat longer; particularly with the books. I hate, absolutely hate getting rid of books even when I know deep down in my heart that having been read once, they will stay read.

I am considering ditching a bunch of board games. Once again, I am torn, but in reality I never get to play them, and with the exception of Ave Caesar and Boom Town I daresay the rest could go though 'twould bring a lump to the throat, such are my materialistic tendencies. I shall have to borrow a digital camera and investigate the possibilities of putting these things up on e-bay, I suppose.

And what about my silver age Fantastic Fours - rescued from my Mum's tidying impulses when I was thirteen and lovingly held onto ever since? Those Lee and Kirby issues are like gold dust now - even though some are in somewhat less than mint condition - and would raise a fair amount of cash. Mind you, in terms of space, they are not such a problem, so maybe I'll hold onto them for a while longer. I've had some of them nearly forty years. A couple more won't hurt.

Whatever, I must throw something out. Space is at a premium, there's barely room to swing a shrew, let alone a cat.

If you're passing on boardgames to good homes, you could stick a list up here - or a pointer to the relevant bit of ebay. I may be interested in some, as may others.
