The evidence is piling up that our office services people are off their collective trollies at worst, or mental giants at best.

I need to book a conference room for a meeting early in February. A simple task, you would think?

I know how many people are scheduled to attend, I know when it will be (date and time), I know we need coffee and tea, I know how long the meeting is likely to last, who is chairing it and what it is called.

So I sent an email with all those details asking to reserve a room accordingly.

By way of response, I get the following:

Dear Bryan

To process your request the following information is required:

* Cost code
* Chairperson
* Meeting title
* Start & finish time of meeting
* Meeting room location / Building

Kind Regards

Building Services Helpdesk

Particularly worrying is the fact that they are asking me what room I am booking, when I don't know until they tell me.

Help! I'm trapped on an infinitely regressing Möbius Strip of causality.(tm)

Gadzooks? That's a bit of a Heath-Robinson affair if ever I've came accross one. Purely due to their own idiocy, naturally, god knows there'd be some spackling out of me if I was approached with the same questions after revealing the information to them. Amazing how the modern world works eh what?
