Oh, it's been a day. Not a bad one, but annoying in that fashion that is unreasonable deadlines.
It's not often you can tell Number 10 what to do with its pansy deadlines and unreasonable demands for briefing, but I did so today. If it all goes wrong on tomorrow's Prime Minister's Question Time your correspondent will be sweeping barracks in Port Stanley by Friday lunchtime.
But no more of that.
Tonight
romney and I went to see Shrek2. Not as good as the first one, but still well worth the outlay of time and money. They really are showing off with the animation, now.
We then retired to yon local hostelry for BEER. This despite the fact that it was still daylight (which everybody knows is unnatural when you have been to see a movie).
A goodly number of pints of Landlord were consumed (bless the Timothy Taylor Brewing Company), and then Ogri and his delightful young lady, Caroline appeared on the scene. Now they have been to Norwich for a short break, and unbeknownst to me acquired Bernard which they promptly gave to me. Bless them.
Some years ago I acquired, for reasons even I no longer remember, a rubber chicken. Paxo was his name and he lived in my teapot. Sometime in the past 15 years, I mislaid dear Paxo and I have missed him ever since.
There are few legal and non-smutty things more instantly fun than a rubber chicken.
And now I am the proud owner of Bernard and I am really made up over it. He even squeaks, which is not an accusation that could ever be leveled at the taciturn but missing Paxo.
Rubber chickens.
What's not to love?
I need a new teapot.
