Oh dear. It is very depressing. This will mean little to most of you out there in LJ land, since I doubt that you are much interested in football. Having said that, I am reasonably confident that [livejournal.com profile] keresaspa (particularly), [livejournal.com profile] ephraim and [livejournal.com profile] bladder will each be wetting themselves with mirth at the news that the Wolves have appointed Glenn Hoddle as their new manager.

Glennda is, of course, a comedy appointment, and I am certain that later in the week the real manager will be unveiled. You will recall that Glennda is the ex-England manager who drew a lot of flak for saying that disabled people were paying for sins and errors in previous lives.

I daresay that this bodes ill for disabled access at the Molineux.

Today is the 63rd anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

Somehow that seems appropriate.

This is the best piece of news Reading FC have had all week.

Of course, it might have come before the weekend when a 4-1 away drubbing may possibly be the last points that the Old Gold get this season.

You have my deepest sympathies, Bry.

Thank you, I'd forgotten that you were a Reading man (quite why, I don't know).

I would say sorry for the 4-1, but we needed the points.

Could have been worse - it could have been Bryan Robson.

I thought it was Wolves that were paying for sins and errors in a previous division?

If that were true, with all the trials and tribulations of the past 25 years, the club would have ascended to Nirvana by now.

For a lack of a Kitson the war was lost...

I'm trying to work out if he is a worse or better appointment than Bryan Robson. On the plus side you are more or less guaranteed that your manager won't disappear on week long benders but at least we won't have to put up with Eileen "ordinary person with a talent like Jesus" Drewery. A tough one to call!

We're only just recovering now from the appointment of *gulp* Howard Wilkinson. Hoddle is Wanderley Luxembergo by comparison...

I park in the Wolves ground when I go to work. The man on the kiosk is quite friendly and lets me in for student rate. We like him. He clearly believes that I am much younger than I am and so he is on the Xmas list.
