I am close to giving up with ntl. I have not been able to speak to anyone on their ignore the customer services line. I fear, their protestations to the contrary, that the first that they'll know that things aren't quite what they seem will be when the bank twats them for trying to take the direct debit. Thirty days' notice for cancellation my arse. It takes thirty days to get hold of them as long as the money is going into their coffers. So take away the money. It's the only way.

It turns out that they don't do cable in Whetstone, as noted by [livejournal.com profile] philoko, so there really is no point playing their game any more. Their broadband is quite cheap, though.

In the meantime, courtesy google, I found broadband checker, which in turn lead me to this bunch, who look quite interesting.

Now, the question is, has anyone amongst you good people ever heard of Home Choice, and if so what reputation do they have? The deals look suspiciously interesting, and rather competitive. But I've never heard of them.

But despite their clearly poor recruitment policy, what's their product like?

Keep an eye on your bank account.

With direct debits, even if you cancel them, the company can keep taking the money.

I wish I were kidding.
