The bed hath arrived, and is assembled upstairs. Later on, I shall nip down to Finchley and obtain linen worthy of this Cathedral of Kippagetm.
Unfortunately, I doubt that I shall have the time to sort the room properly before the weekend, so for now I shall continue to use the spare bedroom, since that is were all my stuff is stowed. It seems a shame, but it's only a couple more nights, and the futon is surprisingly comfy, so I shall survive this ordeal. In the near future, I need to obtain a desk/table, two bedside tables and a small chest of drawers. And some curtains. There are no curtains in the bedroom, which is probably OK right now since it is dark for so long, but come summer...
I am unused to all this furniture buying and so on, and it is both expensive, and a drag in the extreme; but still, it has to be done, I guess. Eventually it will be pretty much as I want it, and I can get on with important stuff, like avoiding all my hobbies and chores, and generally slobbing around - inactivities in which I reign supreme.
I guess my next move is to have lunch and then get some papers to the landlord's agent to make the tenancy legal.
Thereafter, more unpacking, the best bit of which is the rediscovery of stuff for a brief reacquaintance before being packed away somewhere and forgotten again.
