It catches up on you

I am quite staggeringly tired right now, in that bone weary way that has adrenaline going round the system making you feel edgy as well as tired. With luck, I shall sleep properly tonight. Last night I did eventually doze off, though I woke again around six, before slipping off until 7.30 at which point I promptly turned off the alarms and snoozed until 8.10 when I re-awoke in something of a panic.

I keep getting too hot under the duvet, but too cold if I kick it off. This doesn't help; in fact, I think it's the primary cause of the overall lack of sleep. Tonight I think I shall dig out my friendly, big, blue, Skull1 blanket and warp that around my shoulders and see if that's warm enough to sleep under without overheating and waking up again. There's a lot of positive stuff to be said about this time of year, but temperature wise, it is neither fish nor fowl.

Just to make matters worse, I was looking forward to some impressive cheese dreams, rather than impressive cheese wakefulness. DT sans LJ brought industrial quantities of cheese back uneaten from his party. Enough, in fact, to give the five thousand distinct cholesterol problems. Much of it went into a pasta dish which should have opened the portals of time space to the sleeper.

What a waste.

I managed the cup of coffee, but forgot my meds again. I had an infallible routine in Clapham, and I think I forgot to take the buggers maybe twice in four years. I have now forgotten as many times in the last seven days. I am going to have to give some thought to where I put them, so I see them and am reminded that I should take them while still not properly awake. The fridge is just too tall, so they are not immediately on my line of sight first thing when I have got up. Of course, when I am properly awake, I see the damned things every time I walk past the fridge. It's association, see. I'm supposed to associate the first coffee of the day with the damned tablets, but if I'm too tired to look at the top of the fridge…

Ah well.

Perhaps a duvet of a lesser tog is the answer?

As for the tablets - how about in your pants drawer?

Meds that require water to take them can be a problem; I tend to keep them next to the kettle, but even this is not infallible. Meds that can be dry swallowed are best kept on the bedside table I find. Especially if you also keep on the bedside your watch / specs / anything else you will definitely go looking for in the morning.

Can you stash some spares at work for forgetful days?

I took them when I got home - it shouldn't matter too much.

I suppose I could keep some spares in the office. Never thought of that. D'OH!

Sellotape your pills to the back of your toothbrush. It's the only reason I don't have children right now.
