And again...

I am very tired, but for some reason I can feel the adrenaline going round my veins. I really don't know why, but as it is adrenaline, it gives energy when you don't necessarily need it. I really just want to go to bed and sleep. I tried that earlier, I was beyond restless.

So. Plan B

I have a can of Kronenbourg 1664 next to me. I am hoping that a very modest amount of alcohol will help me doze off. Still, tomorrow is my last day in the office for a week. Get through that and the world is my lobster.

I understand what you mean! I got very little sleep last night but I've been running and running and running ever since I got up. It's really starting to get to me too and I wonder if I will get any sleep tonight. I really have a big day tomorrow and I need as much rest as I can get so I can put up with my 5 year old acting 5.

You seem to get this kind of insomnia a lot. Have you tried herbal sleepers? A number of people I know, who get these kind of nights occasionally, swear by Nytol.

I have used it occasionally myself; usually when I know I have to get up at 5pm and drive to the other side of the country and really can't afford a sleepness night. The experience of actually going to sleep this way can be a little weird, you can feel the adrenaline as a kind of vibration in your body as you drift away despite it.

Hmm this weather, I spent a good few hours clock watching last night, not adrenalin I don't think, just the darned heat. Anywho, I hope Dr. Beer did the trick.

Late nite I tried half-a-bottle of wine followed by Quite A Lot of Beer. Fell soundly asleep during a MSN chat with a friend at about midnight, woke up at 6:00 having got to my bed but overlooked anything more adventurous like undressing, turning lights off, etc. Slept soundly but dreamt of cheese and trombones.

Am currently still too hung-over to decide if I'm tired or not. On the up side I can't focus on the spreadsheet my boss keeps waving at me, and the cries of anger are usefully muffled by the pounding in my head. It's certainly helping me get through the day.

So, this brief study proves that Alcohol works, but I suggest you switch from single can to at least one case for best effect.

Firstly, you're an idiot. But you know that already.

Secondly, tonight in the US, the new seriesisisisis of SG-1 and Atlantis start, so you should keep an eye out for available downloads.

Thought you might like to know that.

To say nothing of Battlestar Galactica.

Still not sure what to make of Stargate, although I note that they're trying to placate us miffed Farscape fans by bringing in both Ben Browder and Claudia Black...

I think I've chimed in on your lj before to recommend various remedies, most of which have since ended up not working for me perfectly over the long haul. So yes, booze it is for me too. The new policy is: one glass of red wine every night at 10 pm--they say it's good for you anyway--2 good nights of sleep in a row so far. I'll let you know if I hit upon any refinements ...

A refinement

Cheese. Eat strong cheese with the wine.

The wine makes you sleep, the cheese gives you dreams. Refreshment and entertainment in the comfort of your own home!

You mean the smelly cheeses don't you? I shall have to work up to them slowly, I suspect.
