There is a glitch in the system. Somewhere a trained monkey is ill, or a hamster has left its treadmill. I am getting LJ notifications days; even weeks after comments have been left. It doesn’t really matter, but it is rather disappointing when you are an attention hound…

They've only just sorted out the e-mail comment system, it hasn't worked since they moved servers. So they've got a bit of a backlog to clear.

Yup, ever since they did whatever they did re the lj server I've been receiving notifications of replies to old posts. It is driving me insane, at a time when I can do that all by myself.

The few spurious notifications I've received are not as annoying as having to constantly log in, even to merely comment on someone else's post. I got a pop-up message, when I submitted a post or comment yesterday, to the effect that I ought to change my password, as it's too easy for others to guess. I changed it, but I always use nonsense passwords that nobody would ever concoct in a hundred years. So I think LJ has been hijacked and hacked here and there recently.

So, yes, the wheel's still turning, but the hamster's dead. I trust that our dear hosts are working out the kinks even as we tap.

The easy password message was not the result of hacking, and neither are any of the other wonderful problems we have been having recently.

and yes, they are working on it, poor souls. (but not the password message - that's intentional)

Yeah, they've been delayed. It was posted in [livejournal.com profile] lj_maintenance that it was resolved and the backlogged mail would start arriving. Unfortunately they appear to have been wrong.

Also, don't be surprised if you get some notifications from months ago - several people have been reporting that since the problem was "solved."

and I get to placate them all... *returns to the trenches*
