Some kind, yet anonymous soul has put a virtual box of Valentine choccies on my information page.

That's the first Valentine's anything anyone has ever thought to send me in any way shape or form.

There was the card in 1973 or 1974 from some infatuated young lady, but the glow wore off as soon as I realised that the envelope had my address on it, but my cousin Steve's name. The entire subject has been pretty much under interdiction ever since.

Speaking as someone who has had a few nice Valentine's Days now and then, after many bleak ones as a teen (Awwwww!) and several indifferent ones as an adult, you're really not missing anything, Bwy.

Y'know, I suppose I ought to comment on my LJ that I detest Valentine's day for a really stupid reason, so it's nothing personal if I don't acknowledge it. Hmm.

(It was the birthday of someone I adored, now long dead but achingly missed on certain days.)

I wonder how to send anonymous silly-gifts on LJ...that would probably keep a few of 'em quiet...(boy have *I* grown into an old grump!)

I am, however, a complete numbskull as far as anything even remotely romantic goes. It's not so much can't read a situation as didn't notice it was there to be read.
