It really ought to be obvious.

In fact it is obvious, but then that's no reason for noticing when you are out at work all day.

My tip for the day, kids, is this: when it is the hottest day of the year so far, and likely to get hotter as the year progresses, MAKE SURE THE FEKKING RADIATORS ARE TURNED OFF!

They are now.

I shall now go and stand under a cool shower. Thank you and good night.

This has been a "Bloody Obvious" Information Release

That's my rant of the day too!

I complained about the heat in our flat and the lass who owns it told me this morning that "my boyfriend turned the heating off yesterday". (If I'd lived there longer or knew her better I'd point out that turning heating off is a doddle and really doesn't need the boyfriend to do it.) Anyhow, on touching the heaters that I've turned off individually many times already, it seems like her boyfriend, despite being male and therefore able to do all things technical - not my thoughts - has succeeded in turning the temperature up. The only place in the flat that isn't like a sauna is my bedroom.

Considering California is a hot part of the world, we usually get what's known as June Gloom: overcast clouds in the mornings, which usually burn off later for a glorious afternoon. This year, it has started early, so lately I drive down to work from 6,000 feet up a mountain through thick cloud. Dangerous, and one feels pretty gloomy oneself under that lot, sitting at a desk.

Cool weather feels jolly nice, when you know it's going to be sweltering all too soon for several months, but there's something to be said for sunny weather inducing a sunny disposition.
