Plague

I think that the Athenaeum Club has become a plague pit.

I knew that I would be worn out after the weekend and took today off to recuperate. I didn't expect to spend it feeling headachy, generally grotty and with an intermittent cough. I am out to Boots in a short while to buy all manner of cold relief goodies and stuff to help me breathe - especially at night (good old Olbas Oil). I feel that it is probably no mere coincidence that both [livejournal.com profile] velvet_the_cat and [livejournal.com profile] nyarbaggytep were similarly afflicted at the weekend. Typhoid Mary is not supposed to be a group entity.

[livejournal.com profile] colonel_maxim arrived home around 1.30 this afternoon and went straight to bed; worn out after the weekend and I guess not enough catch-up sleep last night.

It is into this woeful environment that I shall be welcoming an [livejournal.com profile] ellefurtle early this evening as she tries to escape a distracting home environment and get some more work done.

She has a strong belief in the ability of her immune system to blat the bugs and that she will remain aloof from the Maladie d'Athenaeum and hover like some archaeological Florence Nightingale in the background. I hope she's right; it's manky.

And to think that Penan said he never pressed the button...1.

And so, off to the pharmacy I go. It's just started raining.

Marvellous.

1This may be the last ever NWO in-joke I ever make.

I've got a sore throat, but then that's not unreasonable. I think I dodged the plague.

That's the first sign of the plague in question, I'm afraid.

Sorry - let me rephrase.

I had virtually no voice and no energy yesterday. Now, I have a slightly sore throat.

I blame my affliction entirely on shouting and not sleeping. :-)

Have some anti lurgy vibes and I'll be over here and not coming near either of you for a while :)

My sympathies - it's horrid. (But be glad you do not have to wear a veil - that's really horrid.)

Contact (formerly known as Contact 400) seems to help... a bit.

I thought it was very good of you to catch a lurgy just so that you could portray a very ill Marsilla so accurately!

I think I overdid the devotion... I'm still coughing and have no voice whatsoever now! Still, at least my boss doesn't think I was blagging when I was off work for three days before - apparently I sound awful!

Me too.

I find it utterly infuriating that when I felt like I was *dying* there was nothing obviously wrong with me and few people really noticed, and then as soon as I started to feel a little more human I started to sound like the undead and suddenly lots of people are being sympathetic.

I should like to point out that this is a Goth Plague, acquired from Edwards by a number of people, and tehy gave it me, and so therefore I am blameless in the plague's cause. I dun nuffin.

A veil's not that bad - two NWOs with one, although I hoped Olly coped with it in my stead.

A veil in itself is fine, but when you have the lurgy from hell, trust me it ain't!

*The Typhoid Marys* would make a good name for a Goth band.

Feel better you all.
