Ah, the joys of leeching off someone else's broadband with wireless...

I am in Marlow this weekend, in sunny Surrey and I have brought the laptop with the express purpose of setting up the wireless connection somewhere where I know there is a wireless connection. So far so good, but whoever's wireless I am using, it ain't mine host's. I didn't have time to find out the password and other settings before I was up and running on this connection. So, anonymous benefactor, I thank you and promise not to use all your bandwidth. I shall be a good boy and avoid graphics heavy sites (mostly) and streaming video (mostly) and anything even remotely dodgy (mostly) and certainly I shall not hit the bit torrents (mostly).

I bet I shan't be able to connect tomorrow...

So if you have wireless at home allowing your PC to interact with the phone and the home security system the microwave, the 1million USB thingies and the toilet...and your neighbour has a laptop which has that bluetooth stuff on it....they could sit there and browse the net seemingly on your account ?

Isn't this a bit...you know...dodgy ?!

If you have wireless at home and don't switch on the security it comes with then yes, it's a bit dodgy.
