when the bough breaks

I hadn't realised just how strong the wind has been gusting today, but sometime around 7.15 this evening there was an almighty rending sound from the street and the tree opposite lost quite a substantial bough. I have to admit that Barnet Council were pretty fast off the mark. By 9.30 the mess had been cleared up and apart from the gaping wound on the side of the tree, you'd never know that anything had happened.

The trip into town today was disappointing and time-consuming; I found a couple of things I've been after for a whikle, but nothing that I actually made the trip for. Oh well, never mind, eh?
