More PC grumbles...

Bah.

My PC just died again in the middle of a natter on MSN with fredlums and boroshan. By the time I'd booted up the lappie they had gone off line.

Sorry, chaps.

Must get a can of air at the weekend and have another go at the heatsink...

Ah glad to hear that you haven't just vanished into the ether. Do you know anyone who is good with mending computers? :)

Yeah, but I know what is wrong, it's the heat sink. Needs proper cleaning - I thought I'd fixed it but apparently not.

Will try and get can of compressed air at weekend and literally blow cobwebs out!

about the heatsink - consider getting a new fan. They don't cost much, and can make the machine a lot quieter.

It's on my list of things to do when I have a desktop machine again. or at least a desktop machine in the same place as a monitor and a desk. I can run mine in headless mode, but it's more faff than its worth.

Old victor is getting a bit long in the tooth now anyway. I can see some serious upgrading being due next year :D
