Well, we in London knew it would be fun as soon as it was announced that the RMT had called a 24 hour Tube and rail strike from 6.30 this evening.

The train drivers soon settled and all is well on the overland lines, but the militant knob heads that are the tube drivers have gone ahead and trying to get home was wondrous fun. Not that I needed the tube to get home, you understand - I can get a train from Victoria to Clapham High Street. No, the fun came from the foreknowledge that said train would be packed by erstwhile tube users.

And how do the train company see fit to deal with this? Well, in a splendid display of unity with the Knob-heads, they reduce the train from four to two carriages. This meant that we were jammed in under conditions that would have animal rights people up in arms if anyone transported cattle the same way.

Time to chill a little now (literally) and then launch one final assault on the task that is Madrigal before the NWO sheets go live.

More later, maybe. If I can be arsed or indeed, have anything to say.

It was the fact that I had no problem getting on the tube at 5.30, but it chugged along making 'timetable correction stops' at EVERY station. So in just the run up to the strike it took me twice as long to get home... Grrr

I was vaguely worried that the train strike would go ahead out here in the Shires. Fortunately not, but they did take the usual train out of commission this morning and we eended up in a cattle car...oh well....

Bizarrely, this morning I arrived at Liverpool Street and got straight onto a Met line train to Euston Square. It was nearly empty. Maybe Met line are less militant.
