Blake's 8?

The Independent reports that Auntie is to resurrect Blake's 7 in 2007, initially as a series of 5 minute audio adventures to be podcast over the web, featuring the original characters but a new cast and then a TV mini-series called Blake's 7: Legacy set 30 years after the final episode broadcast in 1981, with a new set of characters and possibly a return of Avon as the sole survivor of the massacre at the end of that series.

Let's hope it's more like Dr Who than Robin Hood if it actually happens...

All true believers know that Avon survived the massacre...

And yes, if it's anything like as good as doctor who then I will be very happy.

Heh. This issue is generating much discussion in Horizon. The article's contents seem somewhat at odds with B7 Media's latest announcements though - the audios are not just new cast but pretty much a reboot/reimagining and the Legacy project was the original plan, based on ideas developed by Terry Nation but seems to be on the backburner right now, especially as Paul Darrow has publicly split from Mr Sewell. Lots more details behind that but I think they'll have to keep till next time we meet in a pub or similar!
