Much better

I don’t know quite what happened yesterday. I woke up bone weary and with that slightly detached feeling you get when a heavy cold is brewing. As the day progressed, it simply got worse; I was more congested, coughing and more and more tired. I didn’t accomplish a single thing and the whole day dragged by slower than an arthritic snail.

When I got home at about quarter to eight I just collapsed on the bed. Then it was 10.20pm! I managed a cup of tea and a half sandwich before going back to bed at about 12.15 having managed to stay bright enough to iron a shirt. I slept through until about 7.00 this morning and now feel reasonably OK. Not perfect, but OK and certainly much better than yesterday. The congestion hasn’t quite gone, but the cough is far more subdued.

I don’t normally get many coughs and colds, but since Christmas it just seems to have been one thing after another. Hopefully with this last episode starting and peaking within twenty-four hours, it is a sign that my immune system is getting back on top of its game!

Not wishing to drag you down, but my system went completely weird when mater died, and I was not myself for about a year.

Suggest you pop over to Waitrose and pick up a tub of multi vitamins, they won't do you any harm.

Are you still feeling thirsty a lot? I'm still worried about you! If you want to meet up one night for a quick pint and I'll do a blood test on you, I don't mind?

I rarely feel very thirsty - I've seen colonel_maxim when he has a thirst on and I get nothing like that- though I have moments where my mouth goes dry! I'm supposed to be artranging a blood test in the near future anyway; if that shows anything untoward, I may well take you up on your offer of a pint to discuss things!

see, now that's what I call a 24 hour virus - a real one and not one of those I had the flu and was ill for 24 hours. It probably came from shropshire cos you haven't any defences against foreign viruses only those in your work place or home.

waffling again, sorry I'll shut up.
