Oh dear. I feel quite tired this morning, despite sleeping (I think) reasonably well. I was admittedly a little late in going to bed last night having accidentally left my faff control set to maximum, but even so I have been to bed later and coped well enough. With luck I shall be able to stay awake long enough to actually do something though motivation levels are bobbing along the bottom of the tank at the moment.

Which has me thinking: do people have bio-rhythms anymore? There was a time they were all the rage and even someone like me who barely notices trends couldn’t help but spot that a bio-rhythm was a popular thing to have. To be honest, I think that was largely because of Zenith in 2000 AD, but I got the reference when it cropped up there, so the concept had clearly already sunk into my tiny consciousness.

If we don’t have bio-rhythms anymore, what fad replaced them and what replaced that?

Can we go back to good old fashioned high-lead, full-fat, extra-sugar lard buns yet, or are they still bad for us? The march of time is passing me by again and I seem to be off the distribution list for received wisdom.

I have the Herzberg blues and Bentham was a stuffed shirt.

Maybe the little buggers are called something else now but, caramba shite, I still have 'em:

5 am - arrive at work, crave Mountain Dew
10 am - crave chocolate
12.15 pm - crave lunch
1.30 pm - dozing, crave shotgun to deter bothersome colleagues
5 pm - crave supper
8.30 pm - abruptly fall asleep wherever I am, whatever I'm doing
12.30 am - wake up and go for a slash
2 am - wake up and go for a slash
3.30 am - wake up and go for a slash
4 am - say "sod it" and get up, go to work.

The kind of rhythm I prefer involves a solid blues shuffle, a Telecaster and a cranked amplifier, but biorhythms are as close as this old nerk gets.

Dear Boy, you have confused bio-rhythm with bio-hazard.

Ha! I've not larfed like this in days! A gold star to the big chap in the pith helmet.

And as for your little word of love and encouragement on your beloved's page today, sir I salute you, you prince among men. What a delight she is, and how deserving you are.
