Foiled Again!
Thursday, June 7th, 2007 03:41 pmMy1 Grand PlanTM has failed at the first important hurdle, damn it.
It was simple enough, the age old hunt-around-for-a-new-low-interest-credit-card and transfer the balances to it from existing, more expensive cards scheme. Easy, peasy.
Stage 1: Identify the card with the best rate, particularly for balance transfers: check;
Stage 2: Apply for card: check;
Stage 3: Get accepted for card: check;
Stage 4: Receive card; get all excited: check;
Stage 5: See desultory credit limit of lower value than the recycling value of the plastic in the card: check.
I don’t need another card; I wanted to transfer the balances and close cards to save money. I think I shall have to phone them up and say thanks, but no thanks and then send them the pieces in a nice envelope.
Back to the drawing board.
1More accurately, Furtle’s Grand Plan. But it seemed to be such a good one!
