I think it might have rained a little during the night. That probably means thunder, but I slept through it.

It feels a bit cooler today, though not so much that I have turned the fan off, and there's no sun just leaden cloud. It is still warm and thunder storms are forecast. I hope that breaks the humidity.

My sweat pores are taking a little time out for R&R. By way of contrast, my tear ducts are getting a fairly reasonable workout, with the uncontrolled yawning that the coffee has so far failed to tackle. During the night someone replaced my eyeballs with big glassy marbles which are just a little to big for my face.

Oh boy, there goes another jaw-cracker yawn.

We got the thunder at 0452 this morning. At least that was the time my alarm clock claimed it to be when the dry rumble woke me up. I lay there for some while, trying to get back to sleep without waking the young lady, and heard no rain. That came sometime between my slipping back under and the raucous, inistent shrill of the miaowling alarm cat at about 7.

The climate in the City and County changed in those couple of hours. The sultry "why don't we have a habit of taking a siesta" closeness has been replaced by a much cooler breezier, much more normal version of the British summer. It should reach you by the afternoon.
