Q: Did the earth move for you?

Apparently there was an earthquake in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, that was felt across most of the country. Apparently it was a couple of minutes before 1am.

Apparently these things only happen when there is something around to mask them or otherwise divert my attention. I still haven't ever experienced even the very mild wobbles this country produces from time to time. And I have no particular wish to experience anything on the California or Japan level, thank you very much.

I would have preferred to have missed it.

As it was, I woke at 2 minutes to one, trying to work out what was happening. When it stopped and there had been no dangerous sounding crashing noises I went back to sleep, somewhat puzzled, but just about registering that there must have been an earthquake, on the grounds that nothing else fitted the sensation.

Didn't feel a thing here, once i'm asleep there's no stopping me, obviously.

Didn't feel anything here, but then I was fast asleep at the time. That said, the shockwave from the Buncefield explosion a few years back woke me up quite thoroughly!

There was an earthquake while we were in California a few years back. It was... interesting... and not something I'm especially keen to repeat (it wasn't a particularly big one)

It's so unfair! I really want to experience a (minor, does no actual harm) earthquake. BAH.

I was on the bottom step of a step ladder many years ago when there was a sort of silent bang and the world moved around me. It didn't do a lot for my nerves because I stood clinging to the steps and whispering whu? whu? whu? we had sort of decided it had to be an earthquake when it came on the news that there had been a small one in mid-wales. Decidedly unnerving.

My own view of it is that I'm safe if nothing is falling off any shelves. If the rolling/swaying/shifting/bump lasts more than a few seconds, that's when I get scared.
