I have just retuned from the Kinematographic Palladium.
romney and I went to see X2. We thought we better hadwhile it is still on, and given that the World and His Wife (Hello, World family!) all want to see Matrix Reloaded, there were lots and lots of empty seats.
An enjoyable film which will find its way into the DVD collection in due course. As
kneeshooter I think it was, mentioned a few Journals back there were lots of nods to the fanboy element out there without making it inaccessible to the casual viewer. Not quite as good as the hype might suggest. The familiar problem raised its ugly head: trying to find enough for a growing ensemble cast to do without muddying the plot and replacing it solely with action. It was a close call, but Bryan Singer just about pulled it off, I think.
Oh, and I think we all know what the next plot line is going to be, don't we?
( It goes like this. )
Oh, and Halle Berry. Rar. Down Boy.
Whimper.
