Urrrr

I am supposed to be at the Oval watching England get humiliated by South Africa.

But since I didn't have to get up for work I naturally went to bed very late left the alarm off.

And now I find that some bright spark has turned the water off. I had just enough in the kettle to boil for coffee. There's not enough for a shower and I refuse to venture near the karsi on principle since having slept in in blissful ignorance my imagination is supplying all kinds of wrongfulness, extrapolating on the effects of a 5-6 strong Polish Brigade (tm) and nothing to flush with.

Oh Lord.

Since I shall be sitting outside this afternoon anyway, the shower isn't too much of a horror provided it's operating tonight, but really...

I am less than keen on the new LJ layout. Anyone care to guide a semi-computer literate chap through putting it back as was?

Well, the cricket was OK. Nice to meet up with some friends, but 165 runs in an afternoon isn't especially attacking batsmanship. On the other hand, after Trescothick's recent performances, he is probably right playing defensive, staying in and frustrating the hell out of the bowlers. It's slow, effective and not entirely entertaining. His batting was less conservative, more reactionary. Still, 165 for 2 is respectable. Pity about the Souith African 1st innings total.

Of course, the fact that there was no Victoria Line (again!) south of the river made getting home especial fun, because the Northern Line was also chocca on account of the Test crowds.

So, bus home.

I should do that more often. I haven't been on the bus for ages and didn't know that there'd been so many changes in the Vauxhall area. You don't notice from the Tube.

Odd that.

Changing the subject - is it just my 56k dial up, or is LJ particularly arthritic this evening?

Okay, so we had the competition and now it's your turn to vote. Pick the 5 you like and rank them accordingly. To answer [livejournal.com profile] boglin, 1 is your favourite, 5 least so.

The best as decided by the median vote is the winner (or something like that).

Because of the limitations of LJ polling, I could only include 15 of the 23 entries, so where some of you over reached yourselves with multiple answers I have arbitrarily trimmed them out.

Sorry, but for what it's worth, my caption isn't included in the vote either.

If it was, it would have been:

...and these two levers control the sincerity level. But they're stuck on off...

[Poll #176851]

And don't forget, the winner gets emailed a Stalin Award with oak-leaf cluster.

I don't have a website to link to for you to look at it, so you'll have to trust me on that score. You can display it on your own LJ if you win.
