Morning meetings
Tuesday, October 28th, 2003 10:34 amHah!
It appears that having been mildly nagged at work last week for getting in at my normal time and therefore missing an early (!) meeting, my efforts to get in early today are wasted.
The meeting has been cancelled.
In fact it was cancelled at about 17.22 yesterday afternoon, about 15 minutes after I'd cleared off early to get to see Kill Bill.
In fact it's been an early week so far. I went home early, went to bed early (comparatively), got up early, arrived in work early and am ignoring the contents of my in tray early.
Who says the world hasn't got a sense of irony?
The annoying thing is, that to get in half an hour earlier is not just a case of moving everything forward by a half hour, oh no. You see, the whole point of my eccentric office hours is that I get to miss the rush hour at both ends of the day. I get in late, and (generally) go home late so that I can miss the crush of sweaty humanity that finds its way onto the transport system. Getting in half an hour earlier involves the tail end of the rush, which means that I have to start out about 40 minutes earlier to hope for the half hour.
Bah. Grumble. Mutter.
Ooo coffee...
