Tuesday, January 27th, 2004 01:13 amI am finding it so hard to write at the moment. Not this gabblefarb - this is easy. No, it's the real deal creative stuff that just doesn't want to come.
Having said that, I am fairly surprised at my feats of endurance in sitting at the computer and wrestling the words onto the page over the past few days. It's slow, but there is progress. I should sit back from the character shet I'm writing and start another, but this is intended to be the template for several of the others and I want to get at least the first draft finished even if I end up returning to it later for tinkering.
I am doing it now largely because I do not want to be in the position I've found myself in the past two events, of writing like a madman at three in the morning, two days before the deadline. Having said that, it is an approach that concentrates the creative juices and focusses the mind wonderfully.
What was I thinking when I volunteered for the writing team? Pah.
It's not that bad really. This creative granite is chipping away slowly and once I'm through I'm fairly confident that there will be a rush of creativity. It's happened before, it will happen again.
Mind you, that's what Roy Wood thought and he hasn't written a new song since the late 70s....
