I suppose that it is generally true that no-one pays a great deal of attention to the contents of kids' telly. I certainly don't, and I don't recall may parents doing so when I was a kid, other than laughing at Batman, a reaction which baffled my sister and me who didn't pick up on the camp humour until we were some years older.

For those of you not from this Sceptred Isle Rainbow was a very popular early afternoon TV show for kids broadcast in the 1970s and early 1980s. It's probably still going out on some obscure cable channel for all I know. Anyway, it was aimed at the 3-6 year old market, I think.
