Last night was quiz night.

We lost. Again. But we did drink a great deal of BEER.

I am not quite sure how or why, or even when we lost the ability to answer quiz questions, but it was about 18 months ago we first noticed. Hmmm. Certainly the days when I personally got decent scores seem to be well in the past. Never mind; we had BEER.

I managed to remember to take my checque book with me, and paid John for the van hire and diesel for last week's move. £111 all in, not too bad, I guess. Certainly I would have been up the creek without the van.

I shall probably miss next week's game, away at London Scottish, as I intend to spend time sorting and unpacking at Whetstone. The fun will be the week after, when we play at Rosslyn Park (note: they may sound like Rugby Clubs and venues, but honestly, we're going to quiz), out in Barnes. That is going to be fun to get back to Whetstone from, being deep in south London, and involving a 30 minute train journey before I take a 50 minute tube ride back to Whetstone. I am told there is a loo at the McDonald's at Waterloo, which I may have to reconnoiter in advance, so the bladder doesn't explode on the day. Normally I would skip the Rosslyn Park away game, but we are going to be short of players, with [livejournal.com profile] romney out in Pune, and John ferrying his son back to school after half term.

What a life I lead.

Still, abstaining from too much BEER at Rosslyn Parks shouldn't be too hard. They have a poor selection.

Around 12.30 I developed a mild tooth ache which I managed to spanner with a couple of hedex so I could get some sleep. Just topped up the dosage as I can feel it in the background. I daresay that I shall have to nip out at lunchtime for Ibuprofen and codeine.

Bugger.

I am beginning to get itchy fingers. I want to draw again, but I have to wait. I have to wait until I am moved, unpacked and have found a flat space to get going. I also need to obtain an angle-poise lamp and a daylight bulb (otherwise the colours all come out too yellow).

[livejournal.com profile] pax_draconis has describes some visuals from a piece of writing he's working on, and it's got my mind wandering through palettes of colour and shade.

More monochrome, [livejournal.com profile] evil_chalkie has enquired about cyber punk illos for his web page. Pen and ink, I think, with the odd hint of bright colour.

But not yet.

No where to do it, no materials and no light.

But soon.

Having wasted 90 minutes of my life that I will never get back watching England and Holland churn out one of the most excruciating internationals I can remember, I switched to Paramount and watched Everybody Loves Raymond. Not one of the better episodes, so I decided to cut my losses and do something productive.

Well, that didn't happen per se, but I have just finished a very cathartic two hours or so going through old bank statements and the like, and pushing them through the shredder. By God, that's a lot of paper. Anyway, that's done, and a little less to do before Saturday.

Tomorrow, I shall ditch a load more stuff in plastic sacks and throw them away. I must remember also to pay a visit to [livejournal.com profile] romney's gaff to make sure it hasn't been repossessed, burnt down, burgled or similar. After that, I think wash up all the spare crockery and cutlery, and separate out what is mine from what is Mrs. Z's. That won't be hard; mine's the good stuff.

I have Friday off for some very final chores, which will include buying new bedding, I think. Failing that I can just shove what I have through the laundry and buy some more after the move. Dunno yet; I'll decide on the day. Surprise myself.

I have a couple of old speakers here and I don't know what to do with them - take with or leave behind. I expect I'll leave them behind, enough is enough.

Right. Enough time wasting, I can get and do a little bit more before turning in.

Ciao4now, everybody peeps.
