Boxing Day
Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 12:42 amI have spent today doing very little other than watching telly and lounging around.
ellefurtle left early to attend to family commitments and won't be back until tomorrow night. I seem to have been sleepy much of the day; perhaps yesterday's celebrations took more out of me than I thought, though they wee not particularly strenuous: we entertained
mingmerciless and Miss Clark sans LJ, passing a very amiable and port/madeira soaked time to boot. Nonetheless I managed to stay in bed today until gone eleven this morning and made it two days on the trot without leaving the confines of the Athenaeum Club. I suspect that I might pop out tomorrow for no other reason than the pleasure of breathing fresh air - or at least what passes for it in this locale.
My Girl found a DVD of Bad day at Black Rock on DVD for me! I have been after this for ages, but it has never been available on those periodic times I thought to go to various retailers either online or on the high street, but she found it for me from a Dutch supplier. The DVD sleeve is all in Dutch, but the movie itself is in English, so no need to sit and stare at subtitles! I am holding off watching it until we can sit down and watch it together. That said, I mentioned it to Mum and she expressed an interest, so viewing may wait until I visit home for New Year.
I was thinking about writing a brief résumé of 2006, but that can wait until I am in a mood for reminiscence. It has been a strange old year. Some very good stuff and some piss poor. Most years are like that, but 2006 has produced extremes at either end of the spectrum.
Later, Mes Enfants.
