Bank Holiday Monday
Monday, May 28th, 2007 06:19 pmA quiet, lazy day pretty much assured on account of the traditional Bank Holiday weather: I don't think it's stopped raining for more than an hour in the last forty-eight.
Still, that's OK. I have taken the opportunity to install my new mouse and the 9-pin to USB adaptor so for the first time in months I have a working Art Pad. This has afforded me the opportunity to do some more work on the Columbine picture of which I posted an early draft some months ago. I suppose I ought to finish it now.
Although not a single one of my football teams managed to get a promotion at the end of the season, Derby County have just ensured that my Boys' arch enemies didn't either, so if schadenfreude is all that's at hand, I shall have a plate of that and enjoy it.
ellefurtle's active imagination seems to be rubbing off on me. I awoke this morning somewhat bemused by a dream. Most of the details slipped away very quickly, but I vividly recall that it involved super powers that only activated in the most mysterious of circumstances (no-one knew precisely how to make them work) and whatever that circumstance was, it was seemingly not linked to trouble. The dream ended with me and friends role-playing back in the garret in Clapham, when baddies started trying to storm the house. I recall being on the landing below my room directing my confreres to throw anything and everything they could into the stairwell to block the baddies' advance (by this time they had been identified as the villains from our role playing game). I was bemused to find that someone upstairs had managed to find an Indiana Jones stylee boulder and wedge that in the stair well. I was perplexed to find a cheese grater on top of it, and "That" I recall thinking to myself in horror "is my only good spatula, too."
I shall now lounge around a little and then I am taking my drill and stuff downstairs to perform surgery on one of the futon sofas.
