caddyman: (Severe Delays)
Now I know that I am back in London.

The tube trip from Whetstone to Euston was fine; the Northern Line behaved itself. At Euston, however, all that changed. The Victoria Line decided to go AWOL and the LU staff decided that the increasingly huge crowd on the southbound platform didn’t deserve even a cursory explanation. Add to that the extreme agitation felt by all when a darkened and empty train pulled up on the station and remained there for three minutes before pulling out equally dark and empty and you begin to appreciate the fun of commuting ion London.

I was rather late getting into the office, but at least Creepy Swedish Guy didn’t put in appearance. I wonder if there is a Swedish train version of the Flying Dutchman? He may be the landlocked, underground equivalent of Captain Hendrick Van Der Decken, a harbinger of doom for the London commuter. If so, he was sadly derelict in his duties this morning.

Ah me. I have just been sent an email with a link to a picture of the forthcoming Character Options release of the Master’s Laser Screwdriver as seen in the last couple of episodes of Dr Who. What’s a mad geek to do?

As usual, after a quiet summer, the new season's telly is about to start in earnest.

I have just done some footling about on teh intarweb and I see that the torrents are going to get a full and wholesome workout over the next few months, starting in about ten days. We still have to wait until January for the final series of Battlestar, though.
