Happenings at Woodside Park
Thursday, November 8th, 2007 11:14 amThe problem with disruptions on the tube is that you don’t know about them until it’s too late. This despite the fact that TFL1 are supposed to send a text to my mobile divvying up the skinny before I get affected; or at least that’s how I understood the service to operate when I signed up for it. I don’t think that I’ve ever received anything from them at all.
I wonder if, because I live in Whetstone, I do not fit the Mayor’s economic profile as a keyworker, so am bottom of the heap when it comes to warnings on travel.
Thus it was that I arrived at the Totteridge and Whetstone station to find it locked with a note telling the world that there was no service between Barnet and Finchley Central because on an ongoing police investigation at Woodside Park. It’s still ongoing now, a couple of hours later. I wonder what vile happening has occurred to cause all the trouble…
Anyway, back up the hill to catch the 263 down to East Finchley and I eventually roll into work around 10.30.
I mention all this simply so that I can display my new commuter icon.
