Oh joy

Today is the last day of our holiday; tomorrow we are back at work. I have lost all motivation to go, what with the arsing around we are getting from above, which makes the job well-nigh impossible to do and squeezes to death what little joy there may be in it. I already know that I have a meeting at the end of the week and that I shall have to produce papers for it tomorrow (not counting anything that has found its way into my diary in the period I've been off.

Luckily, with last Monday being a Bank Holiday, I have only missed four working days, so there should be only around 800 emails (excluding spam) to trawl through.

Try not to get too drunk, if I'm not already too late! Nyuk, nyuk.

out of practice

Poot.

I am so horribly out of practice that I am finding it difficult to come up with a revised sketch and partial redesign of a character that I originally drew in the early '90s for [livejournal.com profile] colonel_maxim. I have always had difficulty drawing hands, unless I am copying from something, but right now feet seem to be eluding me too (hah!).

I had it in mind to post up the original design from 1991 and the revised design from now for comparison, but that may have the wait while I remind myself of the basics of drawing. It's in there somewhere; I just need to blow the cobwebs off, dust the skills down and polish off the rust. I knew this would be a problem and I think that's why I have put it off for so long. Still, I've started now and I think for the sake of my own pride (it's not as if anything else is riding on it) I should at least get part way back to waht I could do when I sketched and painted regularly.
