Furtle and I have registered as basic (ie FREE) members on the Geocaching website - actually Furtle registered some time ago, but the initial interest lay fallow.

Anyway, it seems that there is a cache hidden just outside the pub (our pub), near the Whetstone at er... Whetstone. We may have a quick and furtive peek on our way past later when we go to B&Q to find a replacement loo roll holder.

It is, to borrow from Jane Austen1, a truth universally acknowledged that a person in possession of a new enthusiasm, thoroughly enjoys the tooling up more than the actual undertaking of the enthusiasm. So it is, we are looking at GPS handsets...

1Currently on my mind since I acquired yesterday, a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Lady Catherine has trained ninjas in this version...
