Well the formatting on my PC continues to be a mess when I am trying to read LJ and it is even more fun if I make a comment. Everything appears in a column one-inch wide on the far right of the screen. With jollies like that and the fact that the PC stops to think to itself for a couple of minutes every now and then, I continue to be thrilled with the obsolescent crap we have to work with.

It is clear, too, that the system can barely cope with the demands heaped upon it for normal work; the amounts of time it has spent crashing over recent months is evidence of that. We really need new IT with more memory and a new provider, who is preferably not Cable & Wireless who are more like cable-less and wired if current performance is anything to judge by.

This is a new one on me. I am used to receiving emails offering me the opportunity to invest in Nigerian Banks from their Grand Cayman branches; I am well-known enough that ex-heads of state, or at least their families and lawyers are comfortable with offering me large slices of their fortunes in return for allowing them to store their money in my account for a short time while they get past their present difficulties.

At the same time, my email inbox is no stranger to those concerned individuals who think that I don’t meet enough women, men or parakeets and who offer to set me up with the pelican of my dreams. Similar concerned individuals fear for my prowess, offering me a selection of ways to improve the performance of certain sections of my anatomy.

These are all fine people and I have a special little folder in Outlook whereby I can keep all their friendly communications safe.

Today, however, is a first. One of these people has befriended me on LJ. Now, without the intervention of email, should I feel that gravity is acting on me to my detriment, I need only consult [livejournal.com profile] shoppillrxpills and the answers are there.

I wonder how long it will be before that account is suspended? At the time of posting, it is still active.
