The trouble with instant communication via email, text, mobile phone or any other method is that nothing else is instant. This means that you get unreasonable expectations about when people will get back to you on anything.

The thing is that knowing that your expectations are unreasonable doesn’t make them any less real. One is an intellectual response, the other emotional and we know how often they agree, don’t we?

This means that while it is only 24 hours or so since we had the roofers around for quotes, their silence is beginning to grate.

And yet it’s not so long ago that we would have had to wait days for stuff to arrive by snail mail. Just another example of how hard it is to keep up with technology.
