Daily Routine

caddyman: (Morning!)
Having had to get up earlier (by my standards) on Wednesday, I have left my alarm clock set to go off at that time for the past two days just to see how it works out. What I must do, if I am to continue to do it, is get to bed a little earlier to compensate.

I am not a morning person, not really. By this I mean that I can get up early, but the waking up process takes me at least an hour of bumbling around as the blear clears. There is the occasional day when I wake up full of vim, but generally speaking I am more akin to an old valve TV or radio: I need time to warm up before I am any use.

My routine is usually to get up, have breakfast followed by usual morning ablutions and then sit and stare at the computer for about an hour, listening to the radio, before getting dressed and loping off to work. I really haven’t adjusted since the move from the Carpathia. I have been getting up at the same time but leaving around 35 -40 minutes earlier, which means that my morning routine has been severely curtailed. The past few days have been better and as a bonus for Furtle, she has got a morning cup of coffee in bed out of the deal.

Getting up half an hour earlier isn’t so much of a strain – yet. I expect it might be in the depths of winter when it is really cold, but for now I might keep on with it for a trial period.
