The day after the Easter Bank Holiday and the weather has gone from rainy, grey overcast and cold, to patchy sunshine. I guess the Karma Pixies have assumed that the holiday thus being ruined, everyone is back at work and that they can return the weather to something less wintry and more spring-like.
Well, SNUB!
ellefurtle and I are still on holiday and to make it worse for them, we don't particularly care what the weather is like, so if they manoeuvre a couple of rain clouds back this way, we shall look happily at the garden getting a tater full of water. Hah!
We have been incredibly lazy most of the time so far, with long lie-ins and prolonged bouts of World of Warcraft. This has been good. I think we were both very tired and a few days of schlepping along with no particular agenda has just been what the doctor ordered. That said, we have completed the painting of the bedroom - it is now wall-to-wall banana yellow, edged with white. It is more cheery and pleasant than that description might make it sound. We tried less lurid yellows, but when the blinds were closed (as they habitually are), the paler colours just looked grey and uninviting. You may ask why the blinds are always closed - well, let's just say that we don't want people on the upper deck of the passing bus peering into our bedroom. With the windows being triple glazed, there is no real room for netting, though we are investigating a method of hanging it that will not look quite so accomplished, but which will do the job for us so we can open the blinds and curtains more often and get some light into the bedroom during the day.
Just before you ask - we have seen the effect of broad daylight on the new yellow walls and we like it, so that won't be an unforeseen problem (though it might have been, I'll grant).
We shall be having brunch shortly and then this afternoon, we shall be doi9ng some shopping (boo hiss) - we have managed in five days to graze our way through all bread and dairy products in the house and need to replace same.
More later, perhaps.
Well, SNUB!
