Obligatory weekend update
Monday, November 12th, 2012 04:13 pmNice lazy weekend; I could do with more of those.
As I have done recently, I continued with my new practice of getting to bed rather earlier than has been the norm these past few years and by and large, I feel rather the better for it. Admittedly, I wouldn’t have turned in quite as early last night as I did if the bedside light hadn’t gone off and refuse to come back on (Note to self: must get that dodgy wiring looked at).
The rain on Saturday decided us not to dig holes in the garden and plant the latest of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif) ellefurtle’s vast acquisition of bulbs, though I expect that we will be dedicating much of next Saturday to same. As I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m really not much of a fan of gardening, but I do like having a garden, so this is the price we pay (unless we can win a humongous bloody fortune on the lottery and hire a gardener!). Of course, anything we plant has to survive a) the weather and b) the bloody foxes, who dig random holes for no apparent reason.

So we played on the computer and then watched two and a bit of the Bourne movies in the evening.
Sunday we took the train up to Shenfield and were met by the sister-in-law who drove us on to the folks-in-law for roast Sunday dinner, after a couple of pints of real ale in the local.
All very pleasant.
We rounded the weekend off with a viewing of Homeland and drank rather more mulled wine than perhaps we ought.
As I said at the beginning, I would have read a bit more afterwards, but the light went out and that was that.
