Drunken Genius
Friday, August 2nd, 2013 02:54 pmHave just been told the story, by a colleague, who was on a day trip to Calais – a booze cruise, essentially – and having been drinking heavily and getting appropriately blootered, realised that he had about 10 minutes before they docked and he had no Euros.
Armed with £200 spending money he then decided the best thing to do was to use one of the onboard cash machines to change currencies. As you may suspect, these machines do not pay the best conversion rates. Having fed in his sterling, he was appropriately disappointed by the amount of money he had in Euros.
The genius moment came when in his drunken brain decided that he had had a bad deal and he put the money back through the cash machine for a refund…
Apparently his mates laughed like drains before having a whip-round to make up his spending cash, now severely diminished.
