caddymanAnother Friday rolls around and with it the promise of a weekend's jollity. I always like Fridays, particularly Friday evenings. The entire weekend is still there, hanging just out of reach, like a juicy ripe fruit and it is all anticipation unsullied by disappointing reality. (My, how lyrical I wax this morning).
Of course, I still haven't got my finger out and sorted a TV aerial for the Carpathia and I am away next weekend, so I'm not sure when that will happen (the TV aerial, not then weekend: I'm pretty clear on when the weekend will happen). Having toyed with the idea of Freesat, I am beginning the swing back in favour of a standard digital aerial. I already have a working digibox, why spend the money on a new one for the satellite dish?
Still, we'll see.
I see it's July 4th. Have a nice long weekend, those of you for whom this is a significant date. Here we have to wait another seven weeks or so for a bank holiday and then that's it until Christmas.

Date: 2008-07-04 06:39 pm (UTC)Autumn is liberally sprinkled with holidays here, I am pleased to say (but not gloatingly). There's one in Sept (Memorial Day?), Thanksgrooving in Nov and I always take my birthday in Oct. There may be one or two more. An advantage of working for local govt is that we get 'em all. My wife works in the private sector and her boss is a grump so she gets only a few, chiz chiz.
