Monday: Day one of holiday week
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 12:59 amWe went to see Dark Knight today.
Very good, though it was not exactly clear to either Furtle or myself why the scapegoat thing happened at the end. They could have just blamed the Joker for it, or let it ride. Maybe when I have seen it again in a few months time on DVD, that sequence will make more sense.
Four out of five, I think. The ending was odd as I've said, and the CGI for Harvey Dent was clever technical work and suitably horrific, but unbelievable, which is odd considering how much effort they had made in the bulk of the film to make unreality so commonplace and realistic.
Boy, I thought Batman Begins was dark...
We plan to nip along and watch X-Files: I Want To Believe later in the week, despite the mediocre reviews. Had tonight not been games night, we might have seen it today after Dark Knight as a showing started about ten minutes after the ending of the first film. Still, after 21/2 hours of sitting watching a movie and slowly getting cramp, it was probably better to leave it until later. Besides, if the weather doesn't pick up, we may have to do that instead of having our picnic on Hampstead Heath one of the afternoons...
