I get it already!

It's revolutionary; it's great; it's the best thing since sliced bread!

But.

Ye Gods and Little Fishes, the comic that explains precisely why Chrome is revolutionary, great and the best thing since sliced bread is duller than ditch water.

*Nods* to [livejournal.com profile] oldnick, because is not sure it 'thanks' per se are appropriate in context!

I read right through, out of professional interest - and because I needed my sleep.

Now you're talking!

Big steel and chrome monitors in brash colours with bubblegun dispensers and pez holders! Reel-to-reel, with lots of switches and flashing lights and ticker printouts (all just for show, of course)

Awesome technology!

I quite like the comic; I think that it goes into a lot of detail because Google are trying not to patronise people. Even the low level security stuff was understandable, even if some people aren't likely to find it interesting.

I am amused that http://www.google.com/chrome/ currently 404s though.

Hehe.

I wonder if that is IE pretending it doesn't exist so we can't download and try it!

Not unless Firefox are in on the conspiracy.

Google said they're releasing it 'today'. Given that when Firefox 3 was released on a specific date, they actually used 9am, Pacific Stupid Time to do so, meaning that it wasn't available here until about 6pm, I'm guessing that Google will release it _sometime_ in the 24 hours that their main office is in 'today' and I'll get it tomorrow.

You never know: it could be a conspiracy...

I'll be having a go at downloading it later on, too. Alkways worth trying something new and I had a lot of trouble wuith memory leakage on Firefox 2 (though Firefox 3 seems to be behaving itself somewhat better).

You obviously missed Germany's annexing of parts of Europe (page 13). Either that or Chrome doesn't render Google maps very well...
There's something rotten in the state of Denmark...

No...

That's the New Luxemburg Empire as declared this morning. The Germans were as much surprised as anybody!
