For no readily apparent reason I watched an hours worth of the final TV debate between Dubya and Lurch last night instead of doing the obvious thing and going to bed before 3am.

I don't understand how that performance would make either of them electable; two grown men hitting one another with handbags...

US political debate is as dismal as that in the UK. No wonder no-one's interested...

These days I think that politicians treat the electorate as a resource to be exploited rather than rational human beings. The politics of the sound bite is not particularly engaging.

Both struck me as a pair of dithering, inarticulate eejits. Looks like a case of the least worst option as the secret service would say on ITV dramas.

I've been trying to think of something profound, or at least pithy, to say... but you're right. If I could vote here I'd at least vote to get rid of the paranoia-inducing, introlerance-encouraging, scrary mofo who's in power now, but who's to say Mr Heinz would be any better? (Then again, I seriously doubt he could be much worse.) Maybe we'd at least get free ketchup on every street corner.
