Back to normal today then, or at least as normal as it gets. I can’t pretend that I wanted to get out of bed and come to work, but then that’s part of the whole ‘back to normality’ shtick, isn’t it?

There is still some snow lying in Victoria, which is unusual, though much has been compressed to sheet ice and become dirty and fractured. I expect that in the centre at least, most of it will thaw today. I believe that more snow is forecast for tonight or tomorrow. I’m not sure, but as much as I like the stuff, I want it gone by the weekend. My Jubilee celebration looms and though the actual day is rather more imminent, I should rather like to celebrate it as planned at the weekend and for that to happen, I need my chums and for them to arrive I need weather in which they can travel.

Furtle has emailed to inform me that outside her office there is a little snowman decorated in the departmental logo. Outside our office there is dirty, frozen slush with cracks in it. There is a philosophical lesson to be learnt here, I feel, if only I could work out precisely what.

It tends to move in the iother direction, from west to east, though I daresay that we don't get much from as far away as Californie.

There is a philosophical lesson to be learnt here

The lesson is that Furtle is seeing other men.

But take heart - the relationship between them will be cold and flaky. If things do heat up, the men will simply shrink away from her and run down the road.
