Because the world likes to bite people in the arse from time-to-time, it comes as no real surprise that it is now my turn.

I have until mid February ( I guess that means the weekend of 12-13 or 19-20) to find new accommodation. I have to say that I can't fault Mrs Z for the amount of lead-in time I have, which is a few weeks longer than she gave to DT sans LJ a couple of years back.

Her stated reason is uncannily like that she gave at that time; namely she wants to import her daughter from Poland to look after her in her declining years. That didn't happen two or three years ago when DT was sent packing, although it was the advertised reason, and I can't see the ageing offspring and spouse living in an attic garret, so…

Anyway. The whys and wherefores of the situation are irrelevant. I have to find new accommodation by mid February.

I have been toying with the thought of moving for sometime anyway, but work circumstances largely torpedoed any immediate chance of moving back to the Midlands, so I never really got moving. Unfortunately, the immediate move to the Midlands remains as unlikely as ever, since I have to let the fallout from the two years of working for the Boss From HellTM edge its way through the system. So that means finding cheap accommodation in London and moving a substantial amount of tat.

Not entirely unexpected news, given Mrs Z's age and general state of health, but unwelcome nonetheless.

On the other hand, it does give me an urgency that I probably wouldn't have found off my own apathetic bat.

Why not move to Cambridge and support me as the rakish (yet tidy) House Husband you have always secretly dreamed of? I never get upset at "stuff" and I can cook too. Plus I have exquisite taste in music, something you will learn very loudly, very quickly! Sounds like we'll be moving at the same time next year, so we can cry into each others beer, at any rate.

I should state again, which regard to events elsewhere that resemble stitch-ups... it wasn't me.

Crying into beer sounds entirely likely...

You will be pleased to know, that I fully appreciate your attempts to stave off the horrors that the writing team visited upon me in my absence, and in no way hold you culpable.

I seem to recall that I owe you a portrait at some point...

Yes, this is true, you do. It's not going to happen until next year however, but we should certainly set a date for it then. Youtome or metoyou, whatever is easiest at the time. Beer can be involved then as well. How about Feb?
