More Spitfires!

Well, more Spitfires and a couple of other aircraft, too.

I took over a 100 pictures at the display, but many are too small - the aeroplane too distant - or ill-defined, especially landing and take off shots. I don't pretend to be a good photographer, so be kind!

This is a Spitfire Mk IXT originally built as a single-seat fighter at the Castle Bromwich factory of Vickers Supermarine in 1944 starting service in northern France and then continuing to Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. It was put in storage in High Ercall in 1945, and was converted into its present trainer configuration in 1950.

IAC 161 flies the colours of the Royal Netherlands Airforce and represents "H98", one of three Spitfire trainers sold to the Netherlands in March 1948.
