UOoGB were very good last night in their first Proms appearance, but Mein Gott it was hot. I'd been warm enough in the air-conditioned office, but between leaving work at 18.15 and having a shower at 01.15, I spent about ten minutes when I wan't too hot and melty.
I could do with another couple of hours' sleep and by tonight it should be interesting. I understand that it is forecast to be about 29°C today, which I further understand is something rude in proper and respectable Fahrenheit. Those of my readership that live in the tropics and/or the subtropics may scoff, but London grabs these temperatures and squeezes extra swelter from them, so you get more chafing and sweat for your buck.
