My iPhone has spontaneously died. It was okay this morning when I used it to phone the office. It's been in my shirt pocket ever since apart from getting charged up. Now it's dead as a dodo; won't switch on (or off), won't charge, won't do anything.

I feel a trip to an O2 store coming up in my immediate future.

Have you tried a reset?

Press the button on the screen and the one at the top (near the headphone socket) together for 6 - 10 seconds. It might force a reboot.

I did.

It turns out my 6-10 seconds are not like your Earth 6-10 seconds...

Happily, the woman at O2 works to the same time signature as the rest of the population unlike me, so it worked for her.
